Applications
- Temperature mapping of warehouses and cold rooms: an accuracy of ±0.5 °C over −30…+40 °C meets the requirement of the EEC Guidelines, and a fleet of identical verified instruments delivers consistent results.
- Monitoring of refrigerators and rooms in pharmacies, healthcare facilities and laboratories.
- Transport of medicinal products, vaccines, biological samples and food in insulated containers and refrigerated trucks.
- Monitoring systems: the Smartag Zond probe connects to data loggers and monitoring systems with an I2C interface.

Data and report
Smartag in the USB housing works as a flash drive: once recording is stopped, it is plugged into any computer, and a PDF report with a chart, minimum and maximum values and excursions is generated automatically — no software installation needed. The logging interval, thresholds (1 to 6) and delayed start are configurable. For mapping studies, reports from all instruments are loaded into our software, which builds tables and heat maps in the format of the EEC Guidelines.
Smartag mini does not generate a report: the result is visible immediately from the LED indication on the housing.
How to check verification
- Find the serial number
It is printed on the temperature indicator label and stated in the data sheet.
- Open FSIS Arshin
Enter the type number in the Federal Register of Approved Measuring Instruments — 91745-24 — and the instrument serial number.
- Check the result
The verification must be valid for the recording dates, with the result “fit for use”.
No verification mark is applied to the temperature indicator: verification is confirmed by the record in FSIS Arshin (Rosstandart's verification database) and, if required, by a verification certificate.

Frequently asked questions
Who manufactures Smartag temperature indicators?
Hladverk Group LLC. The company is named as the manufacturer in measuring instrument type description No. 91745-24.
Can Smartag be used for temperature mapping?
Yes. Over −30…+40 °C the accuracy is ±0.5 °C, which meets the requirement of the EEC Guidelines. A single temperature map uses temperature indicators of the same type with valid verification.
How does Smartag differ from Smartag mini?
Both are single-use and measure temperature from −30 to +70 °C. Smartag records values for at least 700 hours, supports up to 6 thresholds and generates a PDF report when plugged into USB. Smartag mini is simpler: 1–2 thresholds and LED indication without a report.
How often does Smartag need verification?
Every 2 years; for the Smartag RHT, Smartag TZ and Smartag RS-RHT modifications — every year.
Is Smartag suitable for −80 °C freezers?
No, the lower limit of the measuring range is −30 °C. For deep-freeze applications we select a solution as part of a monitoring system.
Can a Smartag sensor be connected to our own monitoring system?
Yes. The Smartag Zond probe is designed, among other uses, for monitoring systems with an I2C interface.
Can Smartag be immersed in liquid?
A modification with a built-in sensor can be immersed only in a special protective PVC bag, and only in liquids that are not aggressive to the bag material. For liquids, a probe in a sealed stainless steel sleeve is more practical.
